2023 French Government Masters / Ph.D. Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme for Study in France (Funded) 

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to help French higher education institutions attract top foreign students to their master's and PhD programs. 

It provides opportunities for future foreign decision-makers in the private and public sectors, and encourages applicants up to 25 years old from developing countries at the master's level, and applicants up to 30 years old from developing and industrialized countries at the PhD level.

The goals of the Eiffel scholarship program 

The Eiffel scholarship program was created by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help French universities attract the best foreign students to Master's and Doctoral / Phd degree programs. 

It trains future foreign decision-makers from the private and public sectors in priority areas of study and encourages Master's and PhD applications from students in emerging and industrialized countries.

Area of Study

The two main disciplinary fields for the Eiffel scholarships cover the following seven areas of study for the Master's and Doctorate elements: 

For Science and Technology 

• Biology and Health 
• Ecological Transition 
• Mathematics and 
• Digital Engineering Sciences 

For Humanities and Social Sciences 

• History, the French language, and civilization 
• Law and political science 
• Economics and management

Studying Levels 

Candidates submitted by French higher education institutions to the Eiffel program agree to be enrolled: 

• in master’s degree courses in an engineering program 
• in a joint doctoral program (joint supervision of dissertation and/or dual degree), 
• in collaboration with a partner institution abroad

Master's degree 

• a maximum of 12 months for an M2 
• a maximum of 24 months for an M1 
• a maximum of 36 months for the completion of an engineering degree 

Doctorate level 

The Eiffel scholarship is granted for a 12-month period in France.

Benefits:

Master's degree 

Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly allowance of €1,181, to which several services are added, including international transportation, national transportation, insurance, housing searches, cultural activities, and so on. 

Doctoral degree 

Eiffel scholarship recipients receive a monthly stipend of €1,700, to which several services are added, including international transportation, national transportation, insurance, housing searches, cultural activities, and so on. 

Tuition fees for both elements of the program are not covered by the Eiffel program.

Timeline: 

The application period will begin in the week of October 3, 2022. 

Campus France will accept applications until January 10, 2023. 

Results will be published the week of April 3, 2023.

Application Method 

The First Step 

• Contact Campus France in your home country or the French Embassy's Cooperation and Cultural Action Department for assistance and advice on your study plans. 
• Contact the international relations department of a French institution via its website, e-mail, or phone to learn about the procedures and deadlines for submitting an application. 
• It is up to you to select the school or university that best suits your study plans in France.   

All French higher education institutions are eligible to apply. 

The Second Step 

• The institution accepts and supports your Eiffel scholarship application. 
• Your application is submitted online by the institution via the dedicated Campus France website.        

                                   

Applications sent directly by students or foreign institutions will be declared ineligible.
