According to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China has emerged as one of the leading countries in terms of reducing energy intensity.

The NDRC's recent statement highlighted that under a new energy security strategy, China's capacity to ensure a stable energy supply has greatly improved, and its international energy cooperation has been comprehensively enhanced.

In recent years, China has made significant progress in transforming its energy consumption patterns. The country has successfully controlled overall energy consumption and significantly improved its energy consumption structure, the statement noted.

From 2013 to 2023, China's energy intensity, which measures the amount of energy used per unit of GDP, dropped by 26.4 percent, according to the NDRC.
