| TikTok social media platform under cyber attack |
There has recently being a cyber attack on TikTok which has targeted brand and celebrities like CNN and Paris Hilton, although the management of the video sharing app has maintained that only few accounts have been compromised and currently working with such users to restore normalcy to their account.
The TikTok app which is owned by a Chinese company called ByteDance, has refused to share any further details on how the cyber attack was carried out.

The spokesperson of TikTok said that the cyber attack was targeted at Paris Hilton a reality TV star who is an active user and has more than 10 million followers on TikTok, although her account was not compromised. However the account of the news broadcasting platform CNN was targeted and has been compromised.
According to TikTok spokesperson, "We have been collaborating closely with CNN to restore account access and implement enhance security measures to safeguard their account moving forward",
"We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the platform, and will continue to monitor for any further inauthentic activity".
