Google Gemini Chatbot Now Available on All Android Devices with 6GB RAM and Above

At MWC earlier this year, Google announced that Gemini would be integrated into the Messages app, allowing users to access the chatbot directly within the texting app. Initially, this feature was only available on newer Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones. However, Google has now updated its Help page to state that any "Android device with 6GB of RAM or higher" can use it. This update was first reported by 9to5Google, which also noted that the feature is now launching in India.

Currently, Google Messages supports Gemini in English across 164 countries, with the exception of Canada, where it also supports French. (The feature has not yet been introduced in France.) Google is working to expand the availability of Gemini to more languages and regions in the future. For now, your phone must be set to English—or French if you're in Canada—to use Gemini for drafting messages, planning events, or casual chatting.

Users must be 18 or older and use Google Messages with an account they manage themselves to access the feature. Additionally, RCS chats need to be enabled. To access Gemini, open the Messages app, start a new conversation, and you will see the option to interact with the chatbot.
