Intelbroker, a notorious cybercriminal, claimed to have hacked both AMD and Apple last week. On Thursday, they posted on a forum stating they had accessed internal source code for three of Apple's tools, a day after making a similar claim about AMD, according to The Cyber Express. Apple has not yet confirmed the breach, but its potential impact could be significant.

Intelbroker posted on BreachForums, claiming to have obtained source code for AppleConnect-SSO, Apple-HWE-Confluence-Advanced, and AppleMacroPlugin, which are used internally by Apple. AppleConnect-SSO is for network authentication, Apple-HWE-Confluence-Advanced is likely for information sharing, and AppleMacroPlugin facilitates internal processes, The Cyber Express reported.

While Intelbroker's post did not explicitly state if the data was for sale, a screenshot shared by Hackmanac on 9to5Mac suggested this possibility. Dark web forums typically vet data to prevent scams, and Intelbroker's reputation lends some credibility to the claims. However, there is always a risk of fraudulent claims, so the news should be taken cautiously.

Apple has not responded to The Cyber Express's request for comment, and major news agencies like Bloomberg and Reuters have not reported on the alleged breach. Verification of the breach would require Apple to address vulnerabilities and enhance security measures, highlighting ongoing cybersecurity challenges for tech companies.
