You might be familiar with Nothing, the tech company founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, but did you know it has a sub-brand called CMF? CMF has quietly released earbuds, accessories, and a smartwatch, and is now venturing into the highly competitive smartphone market with the CMF Phone 1.

Announced on the company's official X (formerly Twitter) account, the phone promises to "leverage Nothing’s innovation and meticulous attention to design" and act as a "great entry point to our entire product ecosystem." The announcement claims that "others overlook this category," despite the abundance of smartphones available, possibly referencing devices like the Rabbit R1.

The CMF Phone 1 bears another similarity to the Rabbit R1 with its inclusion of a scroll wheel, an interesting feature highlighted in the teaser. This wheel, positioned in the phone’s corner and in CMF's signature bright orange color, has previously been used in the case for CMF's Neckband Pro earbuds, though its function on the CMF Phone 1 remains unknown.

The official Nothing X account is also teasing the CMF Phone 1, posting an image of a prominent screw head on a mysterious device and a cryptic message featuring only a screw head and smartphone emoji. This timing suggests it's all part of the CMF Phone 1's promotional campaign. Another post on X has potentially leaked the phone's specifications, suggesting it will feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, a 5,000mAh battery, and 33W charging.
