Range Rover Electric Garners 38,000 Pre-Orders Ahead of Autumn Launch: JLR's First EV

Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) new Range Rover Electric, the brand's first electric vehicle (EV), has amassed a waiting list of over 38,000 ahead of its anticipated autumn debut. Despite being slow to enter the EV market—with the exception of the Jaguar i-Pace—JLR has rebounded well post-Covid and 'dieselgate', selling over 400,000 cars last year, primarily Range Rovers and Defenders, resulting in £29 billion in revenue and £2.2 billion in profit.

Interest in the Range Rover Electric is high, with JLR previously reporting a waiting list of 16,000 earlier this year, which has since more than doubled. The new EV will feature a cutting-edge traction control system that enhances grip on slippery surfaces and AI-driven battery management that improves battery life, range, and charging times. It's also expected to include a battery pack exceeding 100kWh and an estimated 600bhp power output.
