For those looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, there's some disappointing news: the phone is expected to be more expensive than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
SmartPrix reports that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be priced at $1,100 for the 256GB model and $1,220 for the 512GB model, marking a $100 increase from the previous model. Additionally, SmartPrix predicts a similar price hike for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which could start at $1,899. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Watch 7 at an Unpacked event in Paris, France, on July 10. These products should be available shortly after the event, which might also see the debut of the Galaxy Ring smart ring.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6's design is expected to be similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, but with a more durable foldable screen and possibly some dust resistance. Currently, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has an IPX8 rating, providing water resistance but no dust resistance. The main display on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to be 6.7 inches. The cover display could either remain at 3.4 inches or increase to 3.9 inches, depending on various rumors.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 might come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 12GB RAM or the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 8GB RAM, as suggested by Geekbench database entries. This year's model could launch in four colors: Mint, Silver Shadow, Yellow, and Blue, with additional lower-volume colors like Black, Peach, and White possibly available directly from Samsung.
While Samsung has not officially confirmed the rumored July 10 event, it is expected soon, with speculation that Samsung is scheduling its summer Unpacked event earlier this year in Paris, possibly in connection with the upcoming Summer Olympic Games starting on July 26.
