Vietnam's Agro-Forestry-Fishery Trade Surplus Soars 62% in H1 2024

Vietnam has reported an estimated agro-forestry-fishery trade surplus of 8.28 billion U.S. dollars for the first half of 2024, a 62.4 percent increase from the previous year, according to the Vietnam News Agency, citing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

During this period, agro-forestry-fishery exports reached approximately 29.2 billion dollars, up 19 percent from the same period last year, while imports were around 20.92 billion dollars.

Timber and wood products had the highest trade surplus at 6.16 billion dollars, followed by coffee at 3.14 billion dollars, and fruits and vegetables at 2.42 billion dollars.

The United States, China, and Japan were the largest importers of Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery products in the first half of the year.
