Apple has launched the first public beta of the upcoming macOS Sequoia update, allowing the general public to test new features before its official release this fall. This public beta mirrors the content of the third developer beta.
To access the macOS Sequoia public beta, users must sign up on Apple's beta testing website, opt into the public beta under the Beta Updates section, and download it from the Software Update section of the System Settings app.
One of the standout features of macOS Sequoia is iPhone Mirroring, which enables users to control their iPhone from their Mac using a keyboard and mouse. This feature allows viewing notifications and using iPhone apps even when the phone is locked and tucked away. Later this year, it will also support dragging and dropping apps between the Mac and iPhone.

Other notable improvements include enhanced window tiling for better multitasking, Safari's ability to summarize websites and highlight key points, and the Messages app's new features for scheduling messages and using Tapback with any emoji.
The update also introduces a new Passwords app for managing passwords, logins, and passkeys, a redesigned Photos app, and a Notes app with audio transcription and summarization capabilities. Additionally, users can type equations directly into the system for automatic solutions.
macOS Sequoia integrates new Apple Intelligence features similar to those in iOS 18, enhancing writing tools for proofreading, creating unique images with Image Playground, and generating custom emojis with Genmoji. The Photos app includes a Clean Up tool, and Siri now uses AI for improved language understanding and can consult ChatGPT for complex queries.
