Scholarship Details:

Dr. Yanbing Wang will join ASU as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE) starting Spring 2025. She will lead the Transportation Cyber-Physical Systems Lab, which focuses on enhancing transportation safety and efficiency through collaborative sensing, automation, and data-driven methods.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the ASU 2024 Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have or be pursuing an MS/BS degree in engineering disciplines such as Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Possess research experience in traffic modeling, machine learning, data science, and/or robotics (preferred).
  • Be prepared to work on topics such as:
    • Transportation Data Analysis: Cleaning and processing roadside sensor data, developing data-driven methods for empirical data analysis, and identifying travel patterns.
    • Traffic Simulation and Modeling: Conducting traffic simulations, calibration, and data fusion using real-world traffic data.
    • Automated Driving Systems: Creating and implementing machine learning algorithms for behavior prediction, decision-making, and control of automated vehicles.
    • Software-Hardware Integration: Deploying software onto test vehicles for real-world field testing.
