China to Boost Nuclear Tech Support for Developing Nations

China has announced its commitment to provide more nuclear science and technology solutions to numerous developing countries, as stated by the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA). This announcement coincides with the 40th anniversary of China's membership in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

During an event marking this milestone, Liu Jing, deputy director of the CAEA, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address global challenges such as climate change, food security, health, and environmental governance. 

Envoys from 11 countries, including Argentina, South Africa, and Pakistan, were invited to China to participate in the event. They toured various nuclear science and technology facilities in Hainan Province and Beijing. Key sites included the Linglong One, a small nuclear reactor at the Changjiang nuclear power plant, the China Institute of Atomic Energy, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The envoys also engaged with Chinese experts and scholars during their visit.

The CAEA representatives presented China's initiatives aimed at promoting the sustainable development of nuclear energy. They discussed the societal and economic benefits of nuclear technology and highlighted China's collaborative projects with developing nations in utilizing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

Foreign envoys acknowledged China's significant achievements, experience, and cooperative approach in the nuclear technology sector, noting the substantial benefits to developing countries. 

This event, organized by the CAEA in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Mission of China in Vienna, is part of a broader series of activities celebrating China's 40-year membership in the IAEA.
