Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro at this week's Unpacked 2024 event, marking a shift towards a design reminiscent of Apple’s AirPods. Although not direct replicas, the similarities, especially in the white models and oblong charging cases with transparent tops, are noticeable.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro also come in a distinctive silver version, which highlights the new design elements such as an LED color strip on the stems, referred to as the “Blade.” These Blade Lights add a touch of flair and provide swipe and click interactions, setting them apart from the AirPods.
Samsung's earlier in-ear Galaxy Buds were well-received, but lacked the surface area for controls that the new Blade design offers. This 90-degree angled blade contrasts with the AirPods' softer curves, providing a unique aesthetic.

Both the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and the standard Galaxy Buds 3 are available for preorder and will start shipping on July 24. The Pros, priced at $250, feature silicone ear tips for a more secure fit and come with adaptive active noise canceling, siren, and voice detect features. The standard Buds 3, priced at $180, are designed for various situations and long-term use, though they lack the silicone tips found in the Pro version.
Samsung describes the Buds 3 Pro as a Canal Type for immersive sound and the Buds 3 as an Open Type for more versatile usage. The introduction of these models indicates Samsung’s commitment to catering to different preferences in the wireless earbuds market.
