The new Solos AirGo Vision glasses, featuring a built-in camera and support for OpenAI's latest GPT-4o model, pose a fresh challenge to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the smart glasses market. These glasses allow users to query ChatGPT about the objects and people in their view. For example, users can ask, "What am I looking at?" or request specific information like "Give me directions to the Eiffel Tower."
One standout feature of the Solos AirGo Vision is their modular frame design, allowing customization by swapping components like the camera or lenses to suit various situations. These additional frames are priced starting at $89 (around £70 / AU$135). If users find conversing with camera-equipped glasses unsettling, they can use the camera for taking holiday snaps. The AirGo Visions also come with built-in speakers for answering questions or playing music.
While the full version's price and release date are yet to be announced, a camera-less version will be available in July for $249 (around £200 / AU$375). This suggests the camera-equipped version will be priced at least as high as the Ray-Ban Meta glasses, which cost $299 / £299 / AU$449.
