Details of the Japan Africa Dream Scholarship 2025
This scholarship is open to nationals of African Development Bank (AfDB) member countries who have relevant professional experience and have demonstrated a commitment to contributing to their country’s development. - Be nationals of an AfDB member country.
- Be 35 years old or younger.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in fields related to energy, agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, or engineering, with an excellent academic record and relevant professional experience.
- Have at least one year of paid work experience in their home country or another African country within the last three years.
- Not be currently residing or working outside their home country.
- Not be enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- Not be related to any AfDB Executive Director, their alternates, or AfDB staff.
- Commit to returning to their home country to contribute to its economic and social development after completing their studies.

- A monthly living allowance of 144,000 JPY (approximately $11,420 per year) for 24 months.
