Daimler Buses recently delivered 10 eCitaro electric articulated buses to HEAG mobilo in Darmstadt. This addition significantly increases the proportion of electric buses in HEAG mobilo's fleet to approximately 65%.

Advanced Battery and Charging Capabilities

The new eCitaro buses are equipped with the NMC3 battery generation, featuring seven installed battery packs that provide a total capacity of 686 kWh. This configuration allows for a range of around 220 kilometers. Charging is done at the depot via plugs, with charging sockets located on both the right and left near the front axle.

Comprehensive Safety and Equipment Features

HEAG mobilo places high importance on safety and equipment in their buses. The eCitaro models include a reversing camera, a large driver protection window, Active Preventive Brake Assist, and Sideguard Assist, a turning assistant that aids drivers in critical situations. Additionally, the interior is fully monitored with six video cameras.

Enhanced Passenger Comfort and Amenities

Passenger comfort is enhanced with two special-purpose areas featuring wheelchair support surfaces and integrated mother/child seats. The buses also include double USB charging ports distributed along the side walls and two ultra-wide displays in a 29-inch 32:9 format for infotainment.

Integration with Digital Services

All new eCitaro buses come standard with the Bus Data Center, which interfaces with Omniplus digital services. HEAG mobilo uses the Omniplus On Uptime pro service to enhance fleet availability by transmitting fault messages and diagnostic information to the workshop in real-time, thereby reducing service times.

Efficiency and Management Tools

HEAG mobilo also employs Omniplus services like On monitor Time Management, allowing for remote and time-saving mandatory driver card and mass memory downloads. Additionally, On monitor consumption analysis is used for evaluating and optimizing energy consumption, further enhancing operational efficiency.

Conclusion: Boosting Electric Bus Usage

With the integration of the new eCitaro buses, HEAG mobilo now operates electric buses from Mercedes-Benz on all lines within their service area, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable and efficient public transportation.
