Ecobank, the leading pan-African bank, has announced the top finalists for the inaugural 2024 Ecobank Fintech Challenge, following a rigorous selection process. These finalist so emerged from a highly competitive pool of 40 fintech startups that reached the semi-final stage. The event, which was held at the Ecobank Pan-African Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, showcased some of the most promising fintech innovations across the continent.

Over 1,550 Applications from 70 Countries

This year’s challenge attracted an overwhelming response, with over 1,550 applications from 70 countries across Africa and beyond. The diversity and quality of the entries reflect the growing dynamism and potential of the African fintech ecosystem. The finalists will now proceed to the Grand Finale, scheduled for 27 September 2024, at the Ecobank Pan African Centre in Lomé, Togo.

Finalists Compete for $50,000 Prize at Grand Finale

The finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their innovative solutions during the Grand Finale, where they will compete for the ultimate prize of $50,000. The event will be broadcast live on Ecobank Group’s social media channels, enabling a global audience to witness the groundbreaking ideas and technologies being developed by these fintech pioneers.
