Honda 0 Series Concepts Win Big at Red Dot Awards
Honda is celebrating significant success at the Red Dot Design Awards with the flagship concept model, the Saloon, from the Honda 0 Series, winning the prestigious ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best 2024’ award in the Design Concept category.
Saloon and Space-Hub Garner Recognition
The Saloon was not the only concept model recognized; the Space-Hub, another innovative design within the Honda 0 Series, also received accolades in the same category. These awards follow Honda's earlier triumphs in April, where four Product Design awards were secured for the EM1 e: electric moped, Motocompacto ultra-compact e-scooter, BF350 large-size outboard motor, and the Miimo robotic lawn mower.
Honda's Vision and Design Philosophy
Toshinobu Minami, Managing Director of the Design Centre at Honda R&D Co. Ltd, expressed his delight: “We are pleased to be awarded the world-renowned Red Dot Award in the Design Concept competition, in addition to the awards we received in the Product Design competition in April. We designed the Saloon, named the ‘Best of the Best’, as a model that represents the major transformation of Honda, with the theme of achieving a 'resonance with the environment, society and customers' and with an original design that differentiates it from other models from the first glance.”

Launch at CES 2024 and Future EV Development
The Honda 0 Series was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in January, marking a significant step in Honda’s global electrification strategy. The Saloon and Space-Hub concepts showcase the ‘Thin, Light, and Wise’ design philosophy, setting the stage for Honda’s future EV development.
Innovative Design Features of the Saloon
The Saloon features a one-motion form characterized by a line rising smoothly from the front to the rear, and a low, wide exterior design that exudes dynamism and suppleness. The upright design of the side glass creates an expansive side panel, while the shape narrows toward the side sills to highlight the tires. The interior boasts a simple and intuitive human-machine interface (HMI), providing a sophisticated and seamless user experience. Its sporty styling and low vehicle height not only deliver a seductive design but also offer an unexpectedly spacious interior.

Minami added, “We believe these awards are the result of receiving a high evaluation both for the design and the new value Honda offers.
