In 2025, the Hyundai Kona Electric lineup welcomes a new addition: the sporty N Line trim. This version features both interior and exterior sporty enhancements, mirroring the gas engine variant. Despite the new trim, the Kona Electric remains one of the most affordable new electric vehicles (EVs) in the U.S., continuing to outperform its gasoline counterparts.
Price Adjustments and Enhanced Standard Equipment
The Kona Electric SE now starts at $34,270, reflecting a $260 increase from the previous year, which includes a $60 increase in destination charges to $1,395. This model remains the only one equipped with the smaller 48.6-kWh battery pack, delivering 133 hp and offering an EPA-rated range of 200 miles (2024 data; 2025 EPA data pending).

Upgraded Battery Packs and Performance
For 2025, the Kona Electric SEL is priced at $38,270, with the same price increase as the SE. However, it upgrades to a 64.8-kWh battery pack, offering 261 miles of range and powering both the N Line and Limited models. This battery pack is rated at 201 hp. The N Line starts at $39,670, while the top-tier Limited trim costs $42,445, just $65 more than the previous year.
Feature Enhancements Across All Trims
The 2025 Kona Electric includes new features across all trims. Ambient lighting, previously exclusive to the Limited trim, is now available in the N Line trim. Additionally, LED interior lighting is standard in the SEL, N Line, and Limited trims. All four editions—SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited—now feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capacity.

Carrying over from the 2024 model year, all Kona Electric models come with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. The 2024 redesign also brought more interior space, with options like a power tailgate and a head-up display.
Kona Hybrid Unavailable in the U.S.
Despite its availability in other global markets, the Kona Hybrid is not offered to American consumers. Hyundai has instead prioritized its hybrid and plug-in hybrid efforts on larger vehicles like the Tucson and Santa Fe crossover SUVs and the Elantra and Sonata sedans.
By enhancing the standard features and introducing the N Line trim, Hyundai aims to offer a more competitive and appealing Kona Electric for 2025, maintaining its position as a leading affordable EV in the market.
