Immingham, strategically situated on England's east coast, offers robust internal connections through excellent road and rail links. With direct access to major motorways such as the M180, M18, and M1, the location ensures efficient cargo distribution across the UK. The port’s proximity provides less than 24-hour connectivity to a European market of 170 million people, regularly servicing Northern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Baltic regions with over 30 Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) and Lo-Lo (lift-on/lift-off) sailings each week.
Milence's New Charging Hub at Able Humber Port
Milence, the joint venture between Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP, and Volvo Group, has announced the development of its first charging hub in the UK. The hub will be located at Able Humber Port (AHP), a 311ha deep-water offshore wind and renewable energy port with over 1,000 metres of planned heavy-duty quays on a 43.1ha riverbed. Construction is already underway, with the first phase scheduled to be completed by November 2024.
Significant Step Towards Green Logistics
The new Milence charging hub represents a major advancement towards a greener future for road transport in the UK. The development will be executed in multiple phases. Initially, the hub will feature four high-performance Combined Charging Systems (CCS) chargers powering eight bays. Amenities such as sanitary facilities and vending machines for drinks and snacks will also be included. The final phase will add more CCS and MCS chargers, additional sanitary facilities, vending machines, and a lounge area.
