The Tesla Cybertruck, already a groundbreaking vehicle, is about to become even more formidable with the introduction of "apocalypse ready" Sting packages. Announced by Archimedes Defense in collaboration with UP.FIT, a division of Tesla tuning specialist Unplugged Performance, these upgrades are designed to make the Cybertruck "go-anywhere" ready. While the packages are primarily aimed at government and defense applications, civilian use is also highlighted, making these upgrades accessible to a broader audience.

Evolution of the Cybertruck: From Invincible to Sting

The Sting packages build on the Invincible upgrades that UP.FIT unveiled shortly after the Cybertruck's debut in 2023. These new enhancements further enhance the vehicle's capabilities, making it suitable for extreme environments and conditions. Archimedes Defense has outlined three distinct Sting packages so far, with pre-orders for the upgraded Cybertrucks now open. However, pricing details have yet to be disclosed.

Sting Baja Package: Connectivity and Power on the Go

The Base Sting Baja package is the entry-level offering, incorporating advanced connectivity via Starlink, Elon Musk's satellite service. The satellite receiver is conveniently mounted in the truck's bed. A standout feature of this package is the AMP Drive G125 800-volt generator, which is installed in the frunk (front trunk). This generator, capable of running on multiple fuel types including jet fuel, JP-8, diesel, and biodiesel, can output up to 125 kW of energy. This power can be used to recharge the Cybertruck or another electric vehicle (EV). Additionally, the package includes a NACS charging cable and adapters for non-NACS vehicles, though no images of the generator or adapters have been provided.

Sting Protector Package: Enhanced Armor for Tougher Protection

For those requiring more robust protection, the Sting Protector package offers bolt-on offset steel armor plating. This upgrade provides the Cybertruck with the ability to withstand shots from a 7.62 mm assault rifle, further enhancing its bulletproof reputation—a claim originally made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk during the vehicle's reveal. Notably, the Sting Protector package can be installed independently of the Sting Baja package, offering flexibility for those who do not require the generator but still want added security.

Sting APC Package: Maximum Defense with IED and Mine Protection

Taking armor to the next level, the Sting APC package adds IED and mine protection with upgraded bolt-on offset steel and ceramic plating. This advanced shielding is designed to withstand impacts from 14.5 mm heavy machine guns, making the Cybertruck one of the most resilient vehicles on the market. Archimedes Defense's collaboration with UP.FIT ensures that the Cybertruck can handle even the most challenging defense scenarios.

Police Package and Beyond: Expanding the Cybertruck's Role in Law Enforcement

UP.FIT had previously announced a specialized police package for the Cybertruck in June. This package caught the attention of the Irvine Police Department, which announced in July that it would soon be adding a Cybertruck to its fleet. These developments highlight the increasing interest in the Cybertruck for various governmental roles, further solidifying its place as a versatile and powerful vehicle.
